  A:   Contractorgallery.com is an unbiased and free service. Unlike most sites, Contractorgallery.com does not make users fill out numerous forms up front about their home project and then sell the leads to the highest bidder on a client list. This system used by our competitors often limits homeowners’ options and creates problems with pushy contractors trying to recoup their purchase price of the lead. We at ContractorGallery.com allow all users the ability to use our innovative and new search matrix to find the best possible contractor for their job instantly without having ever to wait on a 3rd party to get back to you. You search, compare, and decide for yourself. Once you find a contractor you can instantly send them a quote at no cost to you or the contractor! Also, unlike other sites we do not offer preferred contractor listings. With this method we do not bias our users as to who would be best for your project or repair.

  A:   ContractorGallery.com focuses on finding homeowners detailed information on contractors so they can make an informed decision immediately and does not include Real Estate, Mortgage, Banking, Legal, Escrow. We do have a Friends page where you can view reputable companies in these industries that may be able to help you.

  Q:   What do I do if I have lost my login or password?
  A:   Please go to the Forget Password page and click on the “Forgot your username/password” link underneath the login button. Then enter your email address you registered your contractorgallery.com account with. We will automatically then send you your username and password to your email address on file. Please remember that your username and password are case sensitive.

  A:   If you receive an error of any type that can’t be resolved simply contact support@contractorgallery.com and explain the error and your issue.

  Q:   How can I quit receiving information that I am being sent such as newsletters or promotions?
  A:   If for any reason you decide to cease any newsletters, promotions, reminders or to be taken off of the Contractorgallery.com community email, simple go to your general information tab on your control panel and uncheck the appropriate boxes. Please remember users cannot unsubscribe from emails pertaining to scheduled or unscheduled website maintenance.

  Q:   What if my zip code is listed incorrectly on the home page?
  A:   Since it is extremely difficult to locate someone’s exact location, we automatically generate the zip code closest to the area that you are located for you using our IP location software. You can always delete this zip code and add a more precise one if necessary.

  Q:   What does pay rate mean?
  A:   Pay rate shows on average what the range of prices the home service professional charges for their services in the category searched upon.

  Q:   What does distance mean in the search results?
  A:   Distance is calculated using our zip code software that approximates the distance between the zip code you entered in your search criteria and the zip code of the contractor’s business address they entered in our system. If you entered your zip code directly, we will then use this zip code to determine distance.

  Q:   What does rating mean?
  A:   Rating is used to give our users feedback on other users’ past experience with that home service professional. The scale ranges from 1 to 5 with 5 being the best and 1 being the worst. The scale has 5 components. The components are Timeliness, Quality, Communication, Budget, and Overall Experience. The final rating is tabulated using a weighted average of all 5. All service ratings are computed within each service. For example, if a remodeler does both painting and plumbing services each are calculated separately. The painting rating will be calculated with other painting ratings for an overall painting rating and plumbing will be calculated and averaged with other plumbing ratings.

  Q:   What is a service?
  A:   A service is a main home service category that a business performs. An example would be the electrical service or the plumbing service. Within each of these services you can find specialties which further break down the service to give users the ability to find specifically what they need such as septic systems or sprinklers.

  A:   A specialty is an area-of-expertise within a home service. An example of a specialty would be sprinklers installation or septic systems under the main home service of plumbing.

  A:   There are two ways to request a quote. One option is to let contractorgallery.com find one for you by clicking the Get Quote tab on the home page and entering in a few project details and your contact information. The other option to get a quote is by choosing your own contractor. Simply run a search and find a possible contractor, then hit the "View Gallery" button on the search results page. On the Service Gallery page simply click the Get Quote icon on the right hand side and enter your project’s details and how you would like to be contacted.

  Q:   I sort by which service criteria is the most important to me?
  A:   Yes, you can sort by which service is important to you! That is just one of the great features of ContractorGallery.com! Everyone has different needs…whether it is finding the lowest cost possible, the best ratings and testimonials, the most experience, licensure, insurance, and more can be found and sorted with just a click.

  Q:   How far does Contractorgallery.com search for contractors for me?
  A:   Running a general search will locate contractors up to 200 miles from your zip code. To do this you can click on any service on the left hand side of our home page and we will use our zip code software to estimate your zip code to search around and return to you appropriate search results. Or, you can use the main search bar located at the top of our home page and select a home service, specialty (optional), and enter your zip code. Click the search button and we will display your results. For a more detailed search in your area click the advanced search button for more options.

  Q:   How can I know if a contractor has the correct information that is listed?
  A:   Since Contractorgallery.com does not verify information that a home contractor has provided, as with in every case you should ALWAYS verify such information such as licensing, insurance, cost, and more before going forward with a project. Contractorgallery.com has provided state links at the bottom of the search results that have been provided to help users verify such information.

  Q:   Can Contractorgallery.com help me find a contractor?
  A:   Yes, Contractorgallery.com is here to help you find a home contractor for free and without bias by allowing you to search, compare, and decide for yourself before you ever have to talk to or meet a home contracting professional.

  Q:   Can Contractorgallery.com match me with the right service professional if I can't choose one?
  A:   When you are unable to decide for yourself and you want Contractorgallery.com to help you, simple click the Get Quote link found on our home page and fill out the form provided.   A:   We recommend that you first register for a free homeowner profile, then find the contractor you wish to rate, click on the ratings button on their profile, then tell the community about your experience. Please provide both positive and negative feedback if possible.

  Q:   When do I submit a Rating for the community to see?
  A:   When a project has been completed. Remember you can only give one rating per job performed.

  Q:   What do I do if I find out that a contractor has fraudulent information?
  A:   If a contractor is using incorrect information such as false license, insurance, business name or other information that you can verify, simply go to our Contact Us form or email us at support@contractorgallery.com with all the appropriate information and we will take the proper steps to correct the problem.

  Q:   What do I do if I have found that a contractor has broken the law during a job?
  A:   First and foremost you must contact the proper authorities, after you have, please contact support@contractorgallery.com and explain the situation, we will then take proper actions accordingly.

  Q:   Can I find a contractor by their name?
  A:   In order to find a contractor by name you need to enter in a zip code relatively close to the contractor’s business location and select the correct service category. Once you have run a search simply sort by business name to locate the business alphabetically.

  Q:   What information of mine do I have to give to use this service?
  A:   To use Contractorgallery.com’s search services you do not have to give out ANY information. However, if you choose to leave a message, request a quote online, or leave a rating you must provide your name, phone number, and a valid email address so the contractor can contact you.

  Q:   I ran a search and I can’t find any contractors in my area, why is this?
  A:   Contractorgallery.com is a growing service and there may not be any home contractors for certain services in your area yet. Please be patient as we continue to grow. If you want to tell a home contractor or media outlet about Contractorgallery.com’s innovative new search capabilities simply click the “send to a friend” button to refer it to others.

  Q:   Is there a cost to have Contractorgallery.com find me a contractor if I can’t decide on one?
  A:   No, every one of Contractorgallery.com’s services is 100% free for homeowners.

  Q:   Am I obligated to use Contractorgallery.com professionals once I have contracted them?
  A:   No, we provide possible service professional candidates that are best matched to your needs, but the final choice is up to you.

  Q:   What if I change my mind during a project and want to cancel a project contract?
  A:   The decision to stop a project will have to be worked out between you and the service professional you have decided on for the project. Services and other fees incurred up to that point usually are the responsibility of the homeowner. Disputes should not be brought to the attention of Contractorgallery.com but rather your local judicial system.

  Q:   I have contacted a home service provider and nobody has gotten back with me, what do I do?
  A:   Once you have contacted a home service provider it is the responsibility of that contractor to return your message. Most home service providers have a general policy of returning all messages within 48 hours. If you do not hear back after 48 hours you may want to contact other contractors via our search results since there could be many different reasons the contractor has not responded.

  Q:   What types of home service professionals are not welcome to put up their information on Contractorgallery.com?
  A:   Any user that breaks the Terms of Agreement or Privacy Policy will not be allowed to use or list their information with Contractorgallery.com.

  Q:   What is required to sign up as a contractor?
  A:   Contractors must have a valid email address and phone number to register. Contractors must also not violate any local, state, or federal laws registering for services they are not allowed to perform.

  Q:   What is suggested to sign up as a contractor?
  A:   Top quality contractors who stand behind their work are encouraged to join.

  Q:   I am not seen in the search results, why?
  A:   If you are not seeing your business in the search results please verify you have added these services to your profile. To do this you will need to login and go to your control panel. On your control panel add all the services you want your business to be found under when homeowners run a search. When you have completed this step go back and run a search in your area on the appropriate services. If you still do not see your company in the search results please contact us at support@contractorgallery.com. Please do not add services you don’t perform in order to spam. Doing so will get you banned from our network.

  Q:   How many services can I sign up for?
  A:   Each company can sign up for as many services as they perform. However each business can only register their location for one account regardless of the number of employees at the location. If you have more than 1 business location, please view our signup policies for more details.

  Q:   How do I upload my logo?
  A:   You can upload your logo simply by going to your control panel once you have created your account and by clicking the "Browse…" button and locating the folder on your desktop that contains the picture that you would like to add as your logo. Simply double click the photo file or highlight it and click Open. *It must be under 2MB and also must be a jpeg, bitmap, or gif to work correctly. Sorry for any inconvenience.

  Q:   Do I need a license to sign up?
  A:   You should always check local, state and federal laws to see if a license is required for your company to perform in your village, town, city, county, or state. If your local, state, or federal law requires you to have a license to perform a specific service, then you must receive your license before you can sign up with ContractorGallery.com for that service. The State of California states that contractors if you are not licensed you can only accept jobs under $500(labor and materials). ALWAYS check your local, state, and federal laws for licensing requirements for the services you want to perform. You can go here to view a list of state links for guidance in finding an answer.

  Q:   Do I need insurance to sign up?
  A:   You should always check local, state, and federal laws regarding insurance requirements when performing contracting services. We do not require insurance for you to sign up unless your local, state, or federal law requires it for performing the service you want to register for. You can not be in the process of receiving it. You must have it in hand if local, state, or federal law requires it. Insurance is always highly recommended even if not required by local, state, and federal law.

  Q:   On the registration page what does representative name mean?
  A:   Representative is the contact at the company who signed up for the account and who is responsible for the daily interaction between the contractor and the users on the site. The representative is also responsible for updating the account routinely and promptly responds to quotes, questions, and comments that our users ask.

  Q:   The services I perform should be included as Services, how do I get it added?
  A:   You can suggest a new service that should be included on our site by clicking here.

  Q:   How can a homeowner find me?
  A:   Once you have created a contractor account and added all of your contractor services you will automatically be included in our search results for when users search in your area. An optional advanced search will allow users to search by even more specific criteria in order to find you. Also, Contractorgallery.com allows you to utilize your own custom URL that enables you to direct internet users directly to your company’s page. These URL’s allow you the flexibility to market each service you perform to the correct audience. For example, if you sign up for plumbing, electrical, and pools you will get an appropriate URL for each of these three services. This allows you to put a specific URL for each service on your corresponding company vehicles or equipment, business cards, flyers, and other marketing materials to direct homeowners to the appropriate website content.

  Q:   How do I receive leads from homeowners?
  A:   You receive free leads when a homeowner sends you a quote, question, or message directly from your service gallery page. Routinely we will also pass along free quotes submitted to us from homeowner users. These may get passed along to our contractor users with no cost.

  Q:   How do I view the quotes a homeowner has requested from me?
  A:   When you log into your control panel click the “view quotes” link to view new quotes recently submitted to you.

  Q:   Can I sign up multiple locations?
  A:   You are allowed to sign up for multiple locations only if you have physical locations more than 100 miles apart, you cannot register for each area your company services. If you have more than 1 business location, please view our signup policies for more details.

  Q:   What is my personalized web address?
  A:   Your personalized web address is a uniquely generated web address (URL) for your company; it allows you to drive homeowners directly to your website with your own marketing materials.

  Q:   What is my “specialty” URL?
  A:   A specialty URL is used for every service that you offer. It will increase the odds of someone finding you online, without the help of Contractorgallery.com, but you can also drive someone to an exact specialty that your business performs.

  Q:   Where can I use my URL?
  A:   The best thing about your URL is it’s yours to use. Put it on your business card, on the side of your company vehicles, on your marketing materials, and more. Contractorgallery.com does not limit where you can market your website as it doesn’t violate our Terms and Conditions.

  Q:   Why can’t I edit my URL?
  A:   Your personalized URL is automatically generated using your business information so that search engines will be able to locate you more efficiently, thus driving more people to your website. We don’t allow you to edit it so it remains unique to your business only.

  Q:   Will I always receive a message when I have received a quote, message or rating?
  A:   Yes, you will always receive an email when you have received any of the above messages.

  Q:   How do I read a comment a homeowner has written about me?
  A:   To read a comment a homeowner has left you simply log into your account, click on the left icon that says “view messages” in order to open your message log.

  Q:   What if I want to dispute a rating a homeowner has given me?
  A:   If you feel you have received an unfair testimonial by a homeowner simply log into your account, click the “view ratings” link or icon, then select the rating you want to dispute and then click “dispute”. After you have hit the dispute button please politely explain on the form provided what is incorrect in the rating or feedback. We will review and get back to you.

  Q:   Can I choose to omit any information from my profile?
  A:   Yes, you can choose to omit information, such as insurance, licensing or any other information as long as it doesn’t violate your local, state, or federal laws. Withholding such information might adversely affect some homeowner’s decisions. Please be advised that users can access state issued certifications via a link provided by Contractorgallery.com. With this link homeowners can always go back and verify your information with the appropriate state.

  Q:   How does Contractorgallery.com ensure my search statistics are correct?
  A:   To ensure correct search results and other statistics we use our own proprietary software, and have testing policies in place to ensure that those results are accurate.

  Q:   I service more than 1 zip code, why am I not on first page of results?
  A:   A user may not see your business on the first page of search results in most cases typically because there are other contractors closer in distance to the user’s location running the search. You will likely be listed on another page.

  Q:   Do I have to keep posting my info daily weekly or monthly to be seen?
  A:   No once you post your information it is stored indefinitely or until you wish to have your information removed from the Contractorgallery.com community.

  Q:   I received a bad rating, am I going to be kicked off of Contractorgallery.com?
  A:   Receiving bad ratings will not get your business kicked off ofContractorgallery.com. Incorrect ratings can be disputed as well as any homeowner’s comments that are considered baseless. The only way to be removed from Contractorgallery.com for ratings is to violate our Terms of Agreement

  Q:   What do I need to do to be taken off of the site if I have dissolved my company?
  A:   You must delete all your service information on your control panel in your account first. This helps us prove you are the account holder and responsible for the management of the account. Then simply email support@contractorgallery.com and state that you want your company information deleted from the Contractorgallery.com community. Please provide your Business name, state of residence, and username. Please make sure to include your username to help verify you are the account holder.

  Q:   Can I buy ad space?
  A:   Yes you can buy advertising space, simply click here for details.

  Q:   I submitted my add package, why am I not seeing my ads?
  A:   Please make sure you have clicked the “confirm” button on your control panel which verifies you have reviewed all the details of your ad package. We will not charge your credit card until you “confirm” your ad package details.

  Q:   How long after I confirm my ad package is it up on Contractorgallery.com?
  A:   Contractorgallery.com’s administrators will work as fast as possible to confirm your ad package and have your ad available for our users to see. This process may take up to 48 hours.

  Q:   How big can my picture be for my ad?
  A:   All pictures can be uploaded in any size but will get resized to no more than 100 X 100.

  Q:   What is the difference between sponsor advertising and homeowner / contractor ads?
  A:   Sponsorship packages are typically only shown on the home page and arbitrarily on other major content pages throughout the site like search results, service gallery pages, and photo gallery pages. Homeowner and Contractor packages are shown on all pages with the exception of the home page, as a result correctly targeting the appropriate type of user.

  Q:   What is the difference between impression and fixed time ad packages?
  A:   When purchasing advertising packages you have two choices of how to purchase, either by impressions or a fixed time. An impression is anytime that your advertisement is seen within the distance selected and under the specialties you have specified. A fixed time package is based on a perpetual calendar of days and months from the start date of the advertising package.

  Q:   How do I change my billing info?
  A:   To change your billing information, you must first log into your account. On the main page just click the “change billing” link to add, edit, or delete the information that needs to be modified.

  Q:   Can anyone advertise with Contractorgallery.com?
  A:   Anyone can advertise with Contractorgallery.com as long as it does not conflict with our Terms of Agreement. Advertisements related to or in association with pornography, alcohol, drugs, and our direct competitors are not permitted.

  Q:   Does Contractorgallery.com give a discount for first time advertisers?
  A:   Certain discounts may be considered for first time users depending on type of package desired. To inquire about such discounts that may be given simply contact Advertising@contractorgallery.com.

  Q:   If I buy an impression based package how can I be sure that it is being seen?
  A:   Contractorgallery.com has developed proprietary software that has been tested and enables us to track real time statistics of our ads shown. You can always test by routinely checking your statistics on your control panel.

  Q:   Can I edit my advertising package as it is running?
  A:   We do not allow you to edit or make changes once the advertising package has started. Contact us at advertising@contractorgallery.com for more questions.

  Q:   Can I trade advertising space with Contractorgallery.com?
  A:   Contact Contractorgallery.com’s administrators at Advertising@contractorgallery.com to discuss possible options.

  Q:   Do I need a website to advertise with Contractorgallery.com?
  A:   No, in an effort to help smaller community based establishments get their name out into the internet community we do not require a website. Advertisers just need to enter in all other information, pictures and/or text you want to display in your advertisement.

  Q:   Can I use other forms of payment rather than a credit/debit card?
  A:   Currently we only accept credit card payments. We will soon be implementing other options such as: PayPal, Google Checkout, E-check, and other payment options in the near future. Business checks are accepted but advertising will not be started until the check clears. Contact advertising@contractorgallery.com for our current mailing address.

  Q:   If I am dissatisfied with my results during the time when an ad package is running and active, can I receive a refund and have my ad stopped?
  A:   To have your ad removed from the active ads shown on our site and to receive a prorated refund simply contact Advertising@contractorgallery.com. We will work in a timely fashion in order to remove your ad and return your prorated refund. You will need to include the contact name on the account and your account username in order to verify you are the owner of the account. Contractorgallery.com reserves the right to withhold any credit card service fees it incurs for processing the refund in addition to the one time $30 service charge.
